![]() ![]() Some games launch through Steam specifically, like Mount and Blade: Warband, so I'm not 100% it'll work, but might as well give it a try? Go into Steam/Steamapps/Common/Divinity Original Sin 2/bin and find EoCapp.exe, and double click it. I think this is how you do it with DOS2, but I could be wrong: Of course, we could test this by launching it without Steam involved at all. However, it was the case with Payday 2 a while back, so who knows? Hmmmm, I kind of doubt it's Steam, because usually Steam just crashes when it's the issue. Also, on a fullscreen mode with no save, the game crashes but doesn't close sometimes ( i have to use task manager) - with the save file in windowed mode that Raze put up here, i get to the title screen, but only for a second or two Could it be a Steam related crash with win 7 ? I'm gonna try what i can think of but this is very weird. The only change i've done was deactivate steam overlay and steam VR cinema mode. I see the title screen now, but only for like one second, then the game closes like before. If that doesn't help, you can delete the downloaded My Documents D:OS 2 folder. The graphicSettings.lsx file is set to 1280x720 Windowed mode, Very Low quality preset, which you can change in the options (manually, or hit autodetect) if this gets the game to start. Next, extract the replacement folder from the download below into your '.\Documents\Larian Studios' folder, and see if that will let you start the game without crashing. Normally I would suggest renaming the folder for troubleshooting purposes, but if you don't have any saved games that isn't an issue. This folder contains the saved games, configuration files and a level cache folder. Try browsing to the '.\Documents\Larian Studios' folder and deleting the 'Divinity Original Sin 2' subfolder. check the information under the 'General' tab below the list of events, starting with "Faulting application name." in the center column, look for a recent error (maybe sort by Date and Time) for the game after starting the Event Viewer, expand 'Windows Logs' in the left column and select 'Application' click Start (or WinKey-R), then type "event viewer" into the search box If you check the Event Viewer, does that give an error code or 'Faulting Module' file name that might help identify the cause of the crash? Hopefully, Larian will find the crash report you sent to be more than helpful, and have a patch out in the next build. ![]() Don't really know where to go from here, without an error log. I was thinking RAM at first, since you said the crash occured during loading, but this sounds like a software issue now that you say you have 8 gigs. Hmm, yeah, it's probably not a hardware issue. I checked files with steam and everything is OK.Įdit: Some of my specs : processor is Intel core I5 2.5K 3.30Ghz, 8GO ram, graphic card is Geforce GTX 560 TI I tried everything on the forum that i could find, nothing works. I never touched my registry nor have any pirated OS, and my windows is up to date. I am using a destktop PC with 8GO of ram, my config should let me play without a problem since i play more demanding games and never had this problem before. I have disabled firewall, antivirus software on my pc, my router usually never blocks anything, don't see why it would block after i launch the game tho ? considering i don't even hit the title screen. Then i get the "crash" box from Larian where i already wrote the problem i got and sent them, but no error message or crash message. I dont get a crash log because when the loading screen bar finishes, i get the little white icon (loading) at the bottom and the game just crashes, closes itself. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit official (SP1). Do you get an error message when you crash? If it's a BSOD, could you write down the STOP code and post it here? If it's a lockup, does ctrl alt delete circumvent the problem? How much ram are you using while trying to launch the game? What windows services do you have enabled? What SP are you running? Is your OS pirated, or have you activated it and installed Windows updates? Have you played around with your registry at all? Do you have similar problems on any other games? Any other information that you could provide, which you think could be helpful in diagnosing the issue at hand, would be helpful. What are your system specs? What operating system are you running? 64 or 32 bit? Is there a crash log being output that you could provide? Have you made sure to disable all of your firewalls, including ones present on your modem/router/in your antivirus software? What kind of crash is it? Black screen then close, CTD, BSOD, lock up, etc? Are you on a laptop or desktop? If laptop, what's your system temp? Is your battery still good? Even if plugged in, a faulty battery can cause a system lock on more demanding games. ![]()
